Scheduled rides for riders

When possible, you can plan ahead by scheduling a ride ahead of time, within a 1-hour to 7-day window. When you schedule a ride, you’ll specify your pickup time. We’ll send you a reminder before your pickup.

If you can't select the 'Schedule' option in the app, scheduled rides may not be available in your area.

Scheduling a ride

To schedule a ride:

  1. Set your destination, then tap the ‘Schedule’ calendar icon on the trip preference selection screen.
  2. Choose a date and time, then tap 'Continue.'

Note: We can’t guarantee the availability of drivers in your area during your pickup window.

Note: Cash payments are not available for scheduled rides.

Editing or canceling a scheduled ride

We do not allow the option to edit a scheduled ride.

To edit or cancel a scheduled ride:

  1. Select to "My Trip" from the menu, and select the trip you want to cancel.
  2. Tap ‘Slide to Cancel’ under the scheduled ride you want to cancel.

You can cancel your ride up to 1 hour before pickup.  A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel within 1 hour of pickup.

Hitchhyke’s normal cancellation policy may apply if:

  • You cancel the ride after a driver has been matched.
  • The driver is on their way to pick you up.
  • The driver is scheduled to arrive within the designated pickup window.

Please note: Your sheduled ride may still still show "Searching for driver" up to 30 mins before the scheduled pickup time. If no driver has been matched before the 30 min limit, your ride request will be auto-cancelled and marked as "No Drivers Found". A notification will be sent to you at that time.
