1. Real-Time GPS Tracking

Stay connected and informed at every stage of your ride with real-time GPS tracking.

For Riders: You can track your driver's location during a trip, providing you with the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly where your ride is at any given moment.

2. Manually Sharing Your Location with Friends and Family

Share your trip details with someone you trust, ensuring that someone is always aware of your whereabouts during a ride.

For Drivers:

  • What's Shared: Your name, profile image, contact information, vehicle details, approximate GPS location, ride status, and how long you've been driving on each trip.
  • Privacy Measures: The shared link will not disclose the pick-up or drop-off locations or any passenger identifying details.
  • Note: Location sharing is done on a per-trip basis, and the link will be invalidated after the trip ends.

For Riders:

  • What's Shared: Your name, contact information, approximate GPS location, ride status, pick-up & drop-off locations and times, trip route, trip duration, vehicle type, and license plate number.
  • Privacy Measures: The shared link will not disclose any of the driver's identifying details.
  • Note: Location sharing is done on a per-trip basis, and the link will be invalidated after the trip ends.

3. Strictly In-App Communications

To preserve the privacy and safety of our community, all communications between riders and drivers must occur within the Hitchhyke app.

  • For Both Riders and Drivers: By keeping all interactions within the platform, we ensure that personal contact information remains confidential, and conversations are monitored for quality and safety.
